Smartraft®, being an offsite prefabricated, modular concrete foundation, has many benefits and allows for VRS applications that may otherwise not be possible.
Traditional solutions can often take considerable time in planning, surveying, and co-ordination before construction works can be considered.
Smartraft® which automatically passes destructive load testing, can reduce the need for preliminary works and gives certainty on cost and programme for the construction stage.
In situations where high and steep embankments are encountered, traditional installation methods are not always possible due to insufficient load bearing ground to support the rear of the post to pass foundation load testing.
Smartraft® interlocking design effectively creates a continuous ground beam at shallow depth, giving the load bearing capabilities required.
With posts installed to the front edge, the width of the Smartraft® automatically achieves compliance with requirements, with a working width of N2W2.
Smartraft® also has options of being under-pinned for additional support if required or being braced into the adjacent carriageway.
With low CBR values required it allows Smartraft® to be installed in most locations without the need for new verge material or re-compaction.
