Maximising Sustainability Through Responsible Asset Reuse
One of the key advantages of Smartraft® is that, unlike traditional cast in-situ or driven-post foundations, the system can be removed and recovered at the end of a project. This supports circular economy principles by reducing waste and providing opportunities for future reuse where appropriate.
Once purchased and installed, Smartraft® remains the property of the customer in the same way as any other highway asset or foundation system. However, as with all safety-critical highway infrastructure, any future relocation or reuse must be appropriately assessed to ensure continued suitability and performance.
Warranty and Reuse
The Smartraft® warranty applies to the original installation location and application for which the system was supplied.
Where a Smartraft® installation is removed, relocated, modified, transferred to another project, or reinstalled in a new location, the original warranty will no longer apply unless the units have been inspected, assessed and approved by Smartraft®.
This approach ensures that any changes in loading conditions, barrier configuration, ground conditions, foundation requirements or design standards can be properly evaluated prior to reuse.
SmartRaft® Recertification Service
To support clients seeking to maximise the value of their assets, Smartraft® Recertification Service.
The service may include:
• Visual inspection of recovered units.
• Verification of product condition and structural integrity.
• Review of proposed future application.
• Assessment of compatibility with the proposed VRS arrangement.
• Confirmation of current design requirements.
• Issue of recertification documentation where applicable.
• Optional re-warranting of approved units.
This process provides reassurance that any reused SmartRaft® units remain suitable for their intended application and continue to meet required performance criteria.

Unauthorised relocation, modification or reuse of Smartraft® units without inspection and written approval from Smartraft® may invalidate any warranty and certification associated with the installation.
